Environment

  • IPAM 4.5.2
  • IPAM 4.7 Hotfix 2
  • IPAM 4.8

Cause

  • IPAM Schema Issue
  • Bug

Resolution

  • For IPAM SWIS V3 Schema Issue,

The root cause can be that IPAM.Attributes.Local.xml which should contain definitions for all custom properties:

    Volume:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Information Service\3.0\Schemas\

It may not contain the required definitions. Regardless of custom properties that are available in the database, they cannot be visible to SWIS due to missing definitions in IPAM.Attributes.Local.xml.

  • This problem is resolved when IPAM regenerates the scheme in the XML file.
  1. Open http://localhost/Orion/IPAM/admin/ad...bute.list.aspx.
  2. Modify any custom field on the page, for example, Description.
  3. Click Save. After you click Save, IPAM regenerates the scheme in the XML file.

  • If you encounter this on IPAM 4.7 or IPAM 4.8, kindly please create a ticket for our Support Engineers.

  • There is currently a new bug we are investigating and support will involve development for more details.
