ERROR: Subnet is not 0 (zero) when adding a subnet to IPAM

Updated July 7, 2017

Overview

The following error is displayed when adding a subnet to IPAM.

ERROR: Subnet is not 0 (zero) when adding a subnet to IPAM.

Environment

All IPAM versions

Cause

This issue is caused when a subnet with an invalid network address and subnet mask combination is being added.

For example:

The subnet a.b.c.108/27 contains an invalid network address for /27a.b.c.108. The network address for a /27 subnet should be a multiple of 32 like the following:

  • a.b.c.0/27
  • a.b.c.32/27
  • a.b.c.64/27
  • a.b.c.96/27
  • a.b.c.128/27

Resolution

Create and add a subnet with an appropriate network address and subnet mask combination.
