Updated: November 1, 2017

Overview

After upgrading to IPAM 4.5.2 to the latest version, Manage Subnets & IP Addresses and DHCP management views are blank. The IPAM.Attributes.Local.xml file does not contain references to the custom fields created.

Environment

  • IPAM 4.5.2

Cause

The root cause is that IPAM.Attributes.Local.xml which should contain definitions for all custom properties and can be found in c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Information Service\3.0\Schemas\ contains no definitions at all.

Regardless of custom props that are available in the database, they cannot be visible to SWIS due to missing definitions in IPAM.Attributes.Local.xml.

Resolution

This problem is resolved when IPAM regenerates the scheme in the XML file.

  1. Open http://localhost/Orion/IPAM/admin/ad...bute.list.aspx.
  2. Modify any custom field on the page, for example, Description.
  3. Click Save.

After you click Save, IPAM regenerates the scheme in the XML file.
