Overview

An error state for an object happens if HA fail over / switch over happens during a subnet scan (polling), DNS server scan or DNS zone scan.

 

The following error message appears in IPAM events for subnet scan:

The scanning of '10.100.1.0' started at 2/17/2016 3:22:37 PM has failed with error: 'Scan not responding (rescheduled)'.

 

The following error message appears in DNS zone transfer in IPAM events for subnet scan:

The DNS zone transfer of 'abc_zone' started at 2/17/2016 3:40:44 PM has failed with error: 'DNS Zone transfer not responding (rescheduled)'.

Environment

All IPAM versions

Cause 

The IPAM polling engine changes during fail over/switch over, which causes the error to appear.

Resolution

Trigger a manual scan for these objects:

  1. Select that DNS Server, DNS Zone, or subnet you want to scan.
  2. Click Scan.
