Cancelling the SNMP service installation may cause errors on the target device

Overview

If the SNMP service installation process is canceled, the SNMP service may not be fully installed or configured correctly. The target system will not recognize the SNMP service as installed, and although the SNMP service is running and may respond to SNMP queries, there is a risk that the full MIB being polled will not be available.

Environment

SNMP Enabler for Windows (free) version 1.0

Resolution

Remove and reinstall the SNMP service on the target device manually.
