Overview

This article provides information on logs (installation, server/core, client/workspace, web service) created by FSM required by Technical Support.

Details

Installation logs

During installation, FSM creates following logs:

  • %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\FSMInstall-<installation_date>.log
  • %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\FSMServiceInstall.log

Note: The %ALLUSERSPROFILE% folder is normally hidden, so it will not be visible by default. Enable hidden folders in the View tab of the Windows Explorer Folder Options dialog to view the file.

Core logs

These log files are located in the logs folder of the installation directory and the default installation directory is as follows:

  • Server: C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\SolarWinds FSMServer
  • Client: C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\SolarWinds FSMClient

logs\deviceconnector.log Device connector log file
logs\devicetranslator.log Device translator log file
logs\loganalysis.log Usage analysis log file
cpmi\Lea_<Server_IP>\AthenaLogCollector.log Check Point log collector log file

Workspace logs

The user workspace can be found in the following locations:

  • If the server is installed on the host:
    %USERPROFILE%\SolarWinds\SolarWinds FSM Server\workspace
  • If the remote client is installed on the host:
    %USERPROFILE%\SolarWinds\SolarWinds FSM\workspace

AthenaCpmiClient.log Check Point CPMI connection log file
<firewall_name>\AthenaCpmiClient.log
<firewall_name>\AthenaCreatePolicy.log

Web Service logs

These logs are generated by the FSM Change Advisor web service and located in the webservice folder of the installation directory. By default, this is located in:

C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\SolarWinds FSMServer\webservice

logs\fsm-core.log Core log file for the web service
workspace\.metadata\.log Web service workspace log file
stderr.log Web service installation log file

License Manager logs

License Manager service logs are located in the licensemgr folder of the installation directory. By default, this is located in:
C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Solar Winds FSMServer\licensemgr
