Overview

This article provides steps to install the Orion-FSM integration patch on the NPM Orion server and connect it to a remote FSM server.

Environment

  • FSM version 6.6 and later
  • NPM version 11.5 and later

Steps

Notes:

  • You can download the FSM installer from the SolarWinds Customer Portal.
  • Disable Windows Firewall Service on both servers.
  • No antivirus program should be running on both servers.
  • Make sure that you are able to open the FSM Module on the FSM server.
  • FSMWebService should be running on the FSM server.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Verify if the FSMWebservice port is being used on the FSM server.
  2. Open cmd on the FSM server and enter the following command:
    netstat -ano | find ":17784"
  3. Check if you can see the TCP port listening on default port 17784 as in the following:
    TCP    0.0.0.0:17784     0.0.0.0:0      LISTENING

  4. Provide the FSM server IP address and database credentials.

The Orion configuration wizard automatically starts.
  5. Click Next, and the click Yes to complete the wizard.
