Error: The RPC server is unavailable

The following error occurs during a fail over:

An error occurred while access the service control manager for the secondary server. The error was: "The RPC server is unavailable."


FOE version 6.7



The error is caused when the Control Manager service is not running on the secondary server. 



  1. Reboot Secondary server if the Service Control Manager is not running. 
  2. If synchronization does not complete, Troubleshoot RPC (© 2017 Microsoft, available at, obtained on March 22, 207.) issues on the server.
