WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Table of contents

Updated April 5, 2018

Overview

This article provides steps to upgrade EOC on an existing 1.4 server to 1.6.3 (latest).

Environment

  • EOC 1.4

Steps

Before performing the upgrade, make sure you have the Enterprise Operations Console 1.6.3 installer from the customer portal.

  1. After downloading the installer, run the file as an administrator.
  2. Complete the Configuration Wizard that should come up after the installer finishes.
  3. When the installation process finishes, check the EOC Web Console and make sure it displays information.

SolarWinds does not recommend installing hotfixes unless your specific issue is listed in the readme.txt file included in the hotfix zip folder.

Starting with EOC 2.0, upgrades and installations of EOC are completed using the SolarWinds Orion Installer. If you are an existing EOC user, you cannot upgrade from EOC 1.x to EOC 2.0. To upgrade to EOC 2.0 or later, see EOC Installation Guide
