Upgrade EOC 1.6.3 to EOC 2.0 on same server instance

This article describes the steps to install EOC 2.0 in place of EOC 1.6.3 on the same instance of the server.

Please note that EOC 2.0 does not support upgrade from previous versions; it must be populated with sites/users/maps etc. from scratch.


  • EOC 1.6.3 and below


Cleanup EOC 1.6.3 machine before installing EOC 2.0:

  1. Stop all EOC services.
  2. Uninstall all EOC components from Programs and Features.
  3. Using IIS Manager, remove SolarWinds EOC site and SolarWinds EOC application pool. 
  4. (optional) Delete EOC database if collected data and settings (sites/users/maps etc.) must not be stored for historical purpose.
  5. Delete the following folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds
  6. Delete SolarWinds Information Service inbound rule from Windows Firewall.
  7. Delete SolarWinds EOC and SolarWinds-Orion computer certificates.
  8. Restart EOC server.
  9. Install EOC 2.0 on EOC server.
  10. Complete Configuration Wizard and use a new database option rather than pointing to the old EOC 1.6.3 database.
