WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Overview

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the following error on the Enterprise Operations Web Console:

The polling interval for SolarWinds Server [server_name] is too short for it to process the results for the [module_name] module.

Environment

All EOC versions

Cause

The issue is caused by a stuck job, or jobs, in the job engine.

Resolution

Clear the EOC job engine SDF:

  1. Click the X on the banner error to make it go away.
  2. On the EOC server, go to the Windows services snap-in and shut down all three SolarWinds services.
  3. Go to the folder C:\program data\solarwinds\eoc\exes and find jobengine.v2.msi.
  4. Right-click, and then select Uninstall.
  5. When it completes, right-click and re-install, following the prompts. If it asks to reboot the server after either step, do so.
