EOC Web Console error: There is a problem with the module polling

Overview

The EOC Web Console displays the following error:

There is a problem with the <moduleName> module polling at the <serverName> SolarWinds Server. For additional information, see KB4124.

Note: The error message references a Knowledge Base article number from our legacy system.

Environment

  • All supported versions of EOC

Cause 

There are three potential causes for this error:

  • EOC is polling an unsupported version of the module.
  • EOC has lost its connection to the server it was polling.
  • The credentials for the Orion server are not valid.

Resolution

  1. Verify that EOC is polling only supported modules.
  2. Verify that all of the SolarWinds servers EOC monitors are operational.
  3. Verify that the connections between your EOC server and the SolarWinds servers it monitors are operational.
  4. Verify that the EOC services are all in a Started state.
  5. Test the credentials for the Orion server listed in the error under Settings> Manage SolarWinds Servers.
  6. If the test fails and other causes have been ruled out, update the Orion server's credentials.
