EOC Configuration Wizard crashes with a web.config error

Overview

While installing EOC on your server, the Configuration Wizard crashes and you receive the following error:

Unhanded exception has occurred in a component in  your application . 

EOC\Website\Web.config Error: Cannot read configuration file 

 

Additionally, when attempting to create a new website, the following error is received:

Exception occurred when validating of settings. Please see the log file for more details.

During installation, the Configuration Wizard is showing the following error:

This error is received due to a previously installed EOC website still pointing to the incorrect directory . 

Resolution

  1. Open the IIS. 
  2. Delete the old EOC website.
  3. Re-run the Configuration Wizard.
