These release notes provide additional guidance for SolarWinds Enterprise Operations Console (EOC) v1.4.

New Features and Improvements

SolarWinds EOC v1.4 includes the following new features and improvements:

  • Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2012

This version of EOC adds support for the latest version of Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Support for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012

This version of EOC adds support for the latest Microsoft operating systems.

  • New Tabbed Interface

The EOC web console now has a tabbed interface similar to the interface in other Orion web consoles. The available tabs are Home, Network, and Applications & Server, and you can customize their contents from the Settings page.

  • Support for NCM Compliance Reports

The Configs view on the Network tab now includes a Global Policy Violations For Each SolarWinds Server resource that displays information from NCM compliance reports. This resource is compatible with NCM v7.1 and later.

  • New Resource for Custom SWQL Queries

The Custom Query resource allows you to display results from a custom SWQL query on any view in the EOC web console. Add this new resource from the Settings page.

  • Support for SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM)

The EOC web console now includes an IPAM view on the Network tab to support data from SolarWinds IPAM servers. This version of EOC supports IPAM version 1.7.1 and later.

  • Support for SolarWinds User Device Tracker (UDT)

The EOC web console now includes a Device Tracker view on the Network tab to support data from SolarWinds UDT servers. This version of EOC supports UDT version 2.0 and later.

  • Enhanced Banner Messages for EOC Notifications

The banner messages in the EOC web console now look and feel more like the banner messages in other Orion web consoles, with many new messages. These messages include warning and error messages regarding polling issues and connectivity problems. Many of these messages include hyperlinks to troubleshooting resources.

  • Support for Google Chrome

You can now view the EOC web console in Google Chrome version 20 and later.

  • Support for Orion Groups

The EOC web console now includes a Groups view on the Home tab to display resources for Orion Groups.

  • Improved Polling Performance

This version of EOC includes several enhancements to polling performance. These enhancements include extended timeout periods, rules to handle concurrent polling, and prominent notifications when EOC encounters polling issues.

For additional information about these features, see the SolarWinds Enterprise Operations Console Administrator Guide.

Open Issues

Issue Case Number
Alerts views do not list all IPSLA operation alerts.

Accounts limited by System Name Pattern cannot see any Orion server data.

Internet Explorer 7 and 8 will not display embedded objects within Custom HTML resources.

If the data for a call path has not been collected, the corresponding call path entry in the Global VoIP Call Path resource appears empty. Please wait a few minutes for data to be collected.

VoIP call paths display invalid Quality of Service values if the source site or the destination site are down.

You cannot remove a user from Orion EOC if the Windows account for that user has been deleted.

Duplicate custom properties appear if custom properties from different Orion NPM servers have identical names but different value types.

The Global VoIP Call Managers resource does not display hosts that do not have any collected data.

Do not uninstall Orion Network Atlas from the Orion EOC server. If you uninstall Orion Network Atlas from the Orion EOC server, the Orion web console map resources stop working.

Performing more than ten Undo actions in a row in Orion Network Atlas marks the map as having been saved.

The UDT Watch List resource in EOC differs slightly from the corresponding resource in UDT v2.5.

Network Atlas displays Orion Groups from EOC in the Unknown folder, not a separate Groups folder.
