WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Toolset Launchpad settings are not retained after upgrading to Engineer's Toolset v11.0

Updated March 20th, 2017

When you upgrade to Desktop Engineer's Toolset v11 from version 10.9.1 or 10.9, Toolset Launchpad settings might not be preserved.

Desktop Engineer's Toolset version 10.9 or later

If you want to use your Toolset Launchpad settings from a previous version, you need to back up the settings before the upgrade, and replace Toolset Launchpad settings with the backup after the upgrade.

To retain Toolset Launchpad settings after the upgrade:

  1. Before you upgrade your Engineer's Toolset to v11.0, back up your Toolset Launchpad settings:
    1. Close the Toolset Launchpad tool.
    2. Go to the ToolsetLaunchpad folder and back up the Launchpad.xml file.
By default, the Launchapd.xml file is located  in %AppData%\Solarwinds\Toolset\ToolsetLaunchpad.
  2. Install Desktop Engineer's Toolset v11.0. After the installation finishes, Toolset Launchpad will open automatically.
  3. Close Toolset Launchpad.
  4. Go to the ToolsetLaunchpad folder, by default located in %AppData%\Solarwinds\Toolset\ToolsetLaunchpad, and replace the file Launchpad.xml with its backup.
