WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Ports used by the TFTP server

Table of contents

Updated January 19th, 2017

Overview

This article discusses the ports used by the Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) server.

Environment

All Engineer's Toolset versions

Detail

Engineer's Toolset uses the TFTP server to transfer configuration files for Cisco devices.

Note: If the ports are not correctly set, the download and upload will fail. Do not change the ports unless necessary.

  1. Go to the TFTP Configuration page.
  2. Verify that traffic is allowed on the following ports and that these are not being used on the computer where ETS is installed:
    • UDP/69 - The TFTP server uses this port for TFTP transfers.
    • TCP/8099 - The TFTP server uses this port for user interface to TFTP service traffic.
