How to run WorkSpace Studio tools in detached mode

Overview

Toolset's WorkSpace Studio includes several gadgets which can be run outside of WorkSpace Studio. This article explains how to run them.

Environment

  • Toolset 10.x or higher.
  • All versions of Windows

Steps

  1. Open WorkSpace Studio.
  2. Go to the Explorer pane (typically at the bottom-left of the WorkSpace Studio).
  3. Open the Gadgets section.
  4. Find the Gadget you wish to run outside of WorkSpace Studio and hover the cursor over it.
  5. Note the value for the For Command Line Interaction Use item in the fly-out.
  6. Open CMD prompt.
  7. Go to the Toolset installation directory (typically c:\program files (x86)\solarwinds\toolset\).
  8. Type the following command:  "workspacestudio.exe {Noted Value}".
