This article explains how to determine the location of Toolset's IP Address Management database in order to migrate it to a new system or to back it up.

  • All versions of Engineer's Toolset for Desktop
  • All versions of Windows

The default path and file name is C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\IP-Address-Management.IPDB

If this file doesn't exist, follow these steps to find where the database is stored:

  1. Run the command "Regedit.exe".
  2. Branch down to the following key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\IP Address Management\Settings\
  1. Find the following registry entry:

    Database Filename

The value for this entry is the path and file name for Engineer Toolset's IPAM database.
