ETS Neighbor Map not returning CDP data

The Neighbor Map in Engineer's Toolset does not return Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) data.


Engineer's Toolset for Desktop 10.9 and later


This occurs when polling times out; Both CDP and Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) data are polled in order to make the connections.


  1. Verify that the device supports the OIDs used by running an snmpwalk  on the device and confirming the OIDs below are listed:

    lldpRemManAddrIfSubtype    1.0.8802.
    lldpRemManAddrIfId    1.0.8802.
    lldpRemPortId        1.0.8802.
    lldpRemPortDesc        1.0.8802.
    lldpRemSysName        1.0.8802.
    lldpRemChassisId    1.0.8802.
  2. If the device supports the above OIDS and both protocols are selected in the Discovery Protocol for the map, adjust the global settings in Workspace Studio to increase the number of retries.
