A newly created admin user cannot launch Toolset tools and services

Issue:


After creating a new admin user, it is not possible to start and stop the Toolset Integration Tray Application, the TFTP server, and the SFTP/SCP server tools from the system tray, and the SNMP Trap Receiver Tool cannot be launched.
The tools and services work if they are started from services.msc.

 

 

Resolution:


The issue has to do with the operating system, and it only occurs when User Account Control (UAC) is enabled.

To run a tool when UAC is enabled:

 

 

 

  1. Right-click the tool you want to run.

  2. Select Run as Administrator.
