With DPA 9.2, the default, active file is jtds-1.2.jar. If instructed to do so by SolarWinds support, you can switch to jTDS-1.2.2.sw.2.0.jar using the following procedure:

Note: This updated jtds driver only works with specific versions of Microsoft SQL Server. Do not switch to the 1.2.2 jtds driver unless you are already using these versions of Microsoft SQL Server:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP3 + CU4
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 + CU6
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012

Installing the updated jtds driver

  1. Shutdown DPA.
  2. Navigate to the location of the jar files: <solarwinds>\iwc\tomcat\webapps\iwc\WEB-INF\lib.</solarwinds>
  3. Rename jtds-1.2.jar to jtds-1.2.jar.sav.
  4. Rename jtds-1.2.2.sw.2.0.jar.support to jtds-1.2.2.sw.2.0.jar.
  5. Start DPA.

This update includes the following patches and enhancements:

Patches

Enhancements

  • Support for the Application Intent flag.
    • To use this feature, add 'applicationIntent=readOnly' to the JDBC URL Properties or the Connection Properties field.
  • Enhancement to the Turkish bug fix.
    • By default jTDS has the Locale set to Locale.ENGLISH. To override this, you can set the desired locale by language and country or you can direct jTDS to just use the default Locale, the locale of the server that DPA is running on.
    • Example #1: Set the default language to Swedish and the default country to Sweden:

             net.sourceforge.jtds.language=sv

             net.sourceforge.jtds.country=SE

  • Example #2: Direct jTDS to use the default Locale:
           net.sourceforge.jtds.locale=default
