SQL text is showing the incorrect database information in the SQL server

A monitored SQL server instance is showing the incorrect database or text displayed in the SQL text (for example, for a database that no longer exists).

  • All DPA versions
  • All monitored SQL server versions

Initially, only SQL text is gathered when we see an SQL Statement. This is done for efficiencies and to lower the overhead on monitored instances. It could be a statement that runs against many databases within the same instance or even within any instance that DPA is monitoring.

DPA can be forced to recollect the SQL text by clearing old texts.

  1. Run the following script in your DPA repository database as the schema owner:

    Select id, name from ignite.cond;

    -- Choose the id for the db instance that has the hash_value

    Select * from ignite.const_@id
    Where h = @hash_value

    Delete from ignite.const_@id
    Where h = @hash_value

  2. DPA will re-gather the sql_text in about 2 minutes if it's running.
