LDAP error code 49 when adding an AD group in DPA

Overview

This article describes how to resolve LDAP error 49 when you add a Microsoft® Active Directory® (AD) group in DPA.

Environment

  • DPA 11.x

Cause 

  • LDAP is rejecting the format of the AD service account when querying the AD groups.

Resolution

  1. Re-configure LDAP.
  2. Use the service account with the following format:

    user@domain.com

    Don't use domain\user.

  3. Restart the DPA Service.
  4. Add the AD Group to DPA.
