This article applies to all versions of DPA and Ignite 4.3 and later.

Installing DPA on Windows includes running VBScript (.vbs) files. If VBScript is disabled in your environment, the DPA installation may not complete successfully.

For example, you may receive the following error:

Error: 2738.Could not access VBScript run time for Custom action

To enable VBScript, enter the following commands at a command prompt:

cscript.exe //H:WScript
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\vbscript.dll

After the vbscript.dll file is successfully registered, run the DPA installation again. If you receive the following error:

There is no script engine for file extension .vbs

You must restore the .vbs file associations. You can do this by downloading the appropriate Registry file:

After clicking one of the files above:

  1. In your browser, select Save As.
  2. Save the file with a .reg extension.
  3. Double-click the file to add entries to your Windows Registry.

If the DPA Ignite service is missing, please follow these additional steps:

  1. Set the 'JAVA_HOME' environment variable to your Java Development
    Kit installation.
  2. Add JAVA_HOME/bin to your 'PATH' environment variable.
  3. Go to the 'Ignite Home/tomcat/bin' directory.
  4. Run service.bat install
