Using the Application Intent flag when registering a database instance in DPA

DPA supports the Application Intent flag when you are registering a database instance. This flag is ignored if you are registering a SQL Server AG listener. 

To specify the Application Intent flag:

  1. On Step 2 of the Register Instance Wizard, click Advanced Connection Properties. 
  2.  Enter the following in either the JDBC URL Properties or the Connection Properties field:
    applicationIntent=readOnly

 

 

Also, DPA users can navigate the following to change the AG readOnly flag:

Options, Monitor Setup, Update Connection Info, select instance, select JDBC URL Properties and enter the string applicationIntent=readOnly
