Turn off DPA table tuning advice for a table

Table of contents

Updated September 11, 2018

In DPA you can disable table tuning and query advisors for individual queries, but you cannot automatically turn off advisors for all queries that run against a certain table. If you do not want to see table tuning advice for a table, you can disable advisors for each inefficient queries that runs on that table.

  • DPA 12.0 and later

  1. Open a table tuning advisor for the table.
The top-left pane lists all of the inefficient queries that ran against the table on the selected day. Information about the first query is shown in the top-right pane.
  2. Click the SQL hash or name in the top-right pane.
    The Query Detail page opens.
  3. In the top-right corner, click SQL Properties.
    The SQL Properties dialog opens.
  4. Deselect Enable advisor analysis.
  5. Click the Back button in the DPA menu bar to return to the Table Tuning Advisor page.
  6. Select each query in the list and repeat the previous steps to disable advisors for all of them.

The next time DPA runs table tuning analysis, no advisors for these queries will be displayed. Repeat this procedure for any other inefficient queries that DPA discovers running against that table.
