WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Overview

You may experience connection errors or something similar to the following:

Error: Establishing federation with jSWIS failed.

This can be resolved by removing and re-adding the DPA integration in Orion.

NOTE: This does not remove historical data or have any negative impacts for monitoring.

Environment

  • All Orion platforms with DPA Integration Module 10.0 and later

Cause

Unknown

Resolution

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console and go to Settings > All Settings.

  2. Under Product Specific Settings go to Database Performance Analyzer.

  3. Click on 'Manage DPA Servers'.

  4. This page will list your DPA servers. Under the column 'ACTION' there is a trash can. Click this to remove the integration.

  5. Click 'YES' to confirm removal of the integration.

  6. Now click 'Add DPA Server'.

  7. Type in DPA server details (DPA server name/IP, admin credentials, etc.).

  8. Hit test to test the credentials against the server or click 'INTEGRATE'.
