WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

This article applies to all versions of DPA and Ignite 4.3 and later.

To check if UAC is enabled:

  1. Load the Control Panel, and select Classic View.
  2. Select User Accounts.
  3. There is an option to turn UAC on or off. Select that option to see if UAC is enabled.

If UAC is enabled, do the following:

Right-click the installation file, and select Run as administrator.

If you installed DPA but cannot access it from the browser, follow these steps:

  1. In the SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer program folder, right-click Uninstall DPA, and select Run as administrator.
  2. Follow the prompts to uninstall DPA. If an error displays saying the service to uninstall cannot be found, you can safely ignore this error.
  3. Once complete, run the installation again. Right-click the installation file, and select Run as administrator.
