WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Error on unregister Monitored DB Instance Wizard

Updated: August 18, 2016

When unregistering a DPA instance from monitoring there is an error after screen 4 of 5

  • DPA 10.2 and earlier

There is an option on the next to last screen that allows the user to "Remove the DPA database Objects from the Database Instance".

If this is checked and DPA cannot connect to the instance to remove the objects, you will get an error and the unregister wizard will not continue.

Uncheck the box to Remove the DPA database Objects from the Database Instance", if it is known that DPA can't connect to the instance and DPA will unregister the monitored server. This will leave the tables or Objects on the monitored instance if it still exists.
