WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

DPA server is down in the Orion Platform

Updated February 17, 2017

Overview

Various resources in the Orion Platform, such as Network Atlas and the Edit Limitations page, are not working correctly when the integrated DPA server is down and you have the DPA Integration Module installed.

You can confirm the issue if you find a similar exception in your log files:

ERROR
SolarWinds.InformationService.Core.InformationService - (null)	Exception
caught in method RunQuery
System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: There was no endpoint listening
at https://x.x.x.x:8124/iwc/services/InformationService that could
accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP
action. See InnerException, if present, for more details. --->
System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server

Environment

  • DPA Integration Module 11.0 and earlier

Resolution

Bring up the integrated DPA server(s), or remove the DPA integration.
