DPA Table Tuning Advisor page cannot display data

Table of contents

Updated July 13, 2018

The Table Tuning Advisor page in DPA displays a message that DPA was unable to retrieve information about a table.

  • DPA 12.0 and later

Probable causes for this message are:

  • The database instance is acting as the secondary replica for the SQL Server Availability Group (AG) containing the table's database, and therefore table information is not available.

If you are monitoring the database instance that is currently acting as the primary replica, you can view table tuning advice for the table on that instance. However, the advice might be different due to environmental differences.
  •  Another query error is preventing DPA from retrieving the information. Review the DPA log files for the specific error.
