Change the DPA password on a monitored instance

How to change the DPA password on a monitored instance.

DPA, all versions

Steps

  1. Determine the user that DPA uses to monitor the database instance.
    1. Click Options > Update Connection Info.
    2. Select the database instance, and click Next.
    3. See the Monitoring User field.
  2. Use the management tool of the database instance to reset the password for the DPA monitoring user.
  3. On the Update Monitored Database Instance Connection Information page from step 1, select the Password check box.
  4. Enter the password from step 2.
  5. Click Next.
    1. If the connection succeeds, the password is changed and the DPA monitor restarts.
    2. If the connection fails, enter the password again.
