WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

AG_STATUS tab is not displayed under the instances in DPA

Updated July 26, 2017

Overview

The AG_STATUS tab is not displayed even when DPA is registered to an Availability Group list or direct to an Availability Group instance.

Environment

  • DPA 11.0
  • Monitoring SQL server 2012 Availability Group

Cause

There are issues with the cache that is used in DPA for the AG_STATUS tab. Instances were registered but the monitoring license was only added later. DPA was not restarted after the instances were added. This caused caching issues with the Availability Group (AG) connection type because they were created without a license. The cache was not updated after the monitoring started.

Resolution

There is a bug reported for this issue and a fix is scheduled for another release.

Restart the monitor on the instance as a workaround.
