Error when zipping logs for DPA: HTTP Status 500 - java.lang.IllegalStateException: getOutputStream() has already been called for this response

Updated November 29, 2016

Overview

When trying to zip logs from in the Web GUI through Options > Support > All Log Files (Zipped), the following error is given:

HTTP Status 500 - java.lang.IllegalStateException: getOutputStream() has already been called for this response

This happens as a permission that is missing from the user that DPA is running under on a Linux server cannot access the logs folder for DPA.

Environment

All DPA versions - Linux or Unix server

Cause

[DPA home]/iwc/tomcat/logs was owned by root and DPA was running under another user that does not have read permission to this path.

Resolution

Grant read and write access to the logs folder for the user that DPA is running under.
