Displaying metrics on DPAIM resources

Table of contents

Updated November 16, 2017

Overview

In version 11.1 of the DPA Integration Module (DPAIM), the All Database Instance resource and Database Response Time resource were simplified. To keep the focus on database performance issues that cause wait times, these resources no longer display status information for other metrics such as memory or CPU usage. This change helps users identify and investigate performance issues that cause database users to wait.

If you would prefer to see these additional metrics again, you can restore them by changing an Orion Advanced Configuration setting.

Environment

  • DPAIM 11.1 and later

Steps

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console using an account with administrative privileges.
  2. In the address field of the web browser, enter the following:

    <OrionWebsite>/Orion/Admin/AdvancedConfiguration/Global.aspx

  3. Under DPA.DatabaseInstances.Settings, select ShowKpis.
  4. Click Save.
