If you are seeing an issue where your SolarWinds DPA stops running on AIX, we recommend that you update to the latest 1.6 or 1.7 JRE available from IBM.

To update the JRE used by DPA:

  1. Install the new JRE
  2. Tell DPA to use the new JRE/JDK by updating the following file to specify the path to the new java executable:
  • DPA_Installation_Dir/iwc/tomcat/ignite_config/java_loc.txt
  • Make sure it includes the java executable name, e.g. /usr/jre1.7/bin/java

3.  Restart DPA so that it uses the new Java JRE/JDK

Low memory may also cause SolarWinds DPA to stop running. For more information, see Increasing Memory.
