Fixed issues

This Hotfix addresses the following:

  • Monitoring an Azure database collects sessions of all databases on the given logical server.
  • Extensive logging of new deadlock XML attributes.
  • Blocking tab in Real Time Sessions does not work when the number of SQL Server users and roles exceeds 32,767

Environment

  • DPA 11.1.468

Notes

  • This Hotfix requires SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer 11.1.468.
  • Do not install this Hotfix on your SolarWinds DPA server unless you experience at least one of the addressed issues. 
  • Install this Hotfix on your SolarWinds DPA server. If you are using SolarWinds DPA in DPA Central mode, install this Hotfix on your DPA Central server and on all remote DPA servers.

Install this Hotfix

  1. Log in to your DPA server as an administrator.

  2. Stop DPA.
  3. Make a copy of the following file and save it on your file system (you will need the file to roll back this Hotfix).

    Windows:

    C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\DPA\iwc\tomact\webapps\iwc\WEB-INF\classes\resources\metrics\default-metrics-queries.xml

    Linux:

    /home/dpa/iwc/tomcat/webapps/iwc/WEB-INF/classes/resources/metrics/default-metrics-queries.xml

  4. Extract the files and folders from the Hotfix .zip archive to:

    {dpa directory}\iwc\tomcat\webapps\iwc\WEB-INF\classes

    Windows:

    C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\DPA\iwc\tomact\webapps\iwc\WEB-INF\classes

    Linux:

    /home/dpa/iwc/tomcat/webapps/iwc/WEB-INF/classes

  5. Verify that these files and folders have been created:

    {dpa directory}\iwc\tomcat\webapps\iwc\WEB-INF\classes\com\confio\idc\database\datasource\customizer\AzureSqlDbC3POMonitoredDatabaseConnectionCustomizer.class
    {dpa directory}\iwc\tomcat\webapps\iwc\WEB-INF\classes\com\confio\idc\database\service\quickpoll\AzureSqlDbQuickPollService.class
    {dpa directory}\iwc\tomcat\webapps\iwc\WEB-INF\classes\com\confio\iwc\realtime\dao\AzureSqlDbRealTimeDao.class
    {dpa directory}\iwc\tomcat\webapps\iwc\WEB-INF\classes\com\confio\iwc\realtime\dao\SqlServerRealTimeDao.class
    {dpa directory}\iwc\tomcat\webapps\iwc\WEB-INF\classes\com\confio\idc\database\service\deadlock\xml\parser\SQLServerDeadlockXmlParserHandler.class

  6. If asked, choose to replace the file.
  7. Start DPA.

Roll back this Hotfix, if necessary

Note: Uninstalling this Hotfix removes any other Hotfixes you may already have.

  1. Log in to your DPA server as an administrator.
  2. Stop DPA.
  3. Delete the following folder:

    {dpa directory}\iwc\tomcat\webapps\iwc\WEB-INF\classes\com

  4. Replace the following file with the backup copy you made when installing the Hotfix:

    Windows:

    C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\DPA\iwc\tomact\webapps\iwc\WEB-INF\classes\default-metrics-queries.xml

    Linux:

    /home/dpa/iwc/tomcat/webapps/iwc/WEB-INF/classes/default-metrics-queries.xml

  5. Start DPA.
