Overview

The MSI installers for version 9.0.1 of the MRC client agent include command-line arguments that allow you to upgrade existing clients silently and retain their current settings, if preferred.

Notes:

  • Run the commands in the following procedures with Administrator permissions.
  • Avoid using relative paths when running the commands. Since you are running them with Administrator permissions, the working directory is %WINDIR%\System32.

Complete the following procedures according to your upgrade preferences. Replace fileName.msi in either procedure with one of the following:
DWRCS_NT_32.msi
DWRCS_Vista_32.msi
DWRCS_Vista_64.msi
DWRCS_XP_64.msi

Environment

DameWare Mini Remote Control version 12.0 and later

Steps

Use the following commands inthe command line or in an installer script:

To upgrade the MRC client agent and retain its current settings:
msiexec /qn /i fileName.msi KEEPSETTINGS=1

To upgrade the MRC client agent and reset its current settings:
msiexec /qn /i fileName.msi
