Screen resolution problem on 4K monitor during DameWare remote connection

Overview

This article provides a workaround to the issue where the remote screen displayed on a 4k monitor is very small when connected remotely to a PC.

Environment

All DameWare versions

Cause 

This is a known issue with 4K Monitors and affect all programs running on 4K Monitors.

Resolution

Perform the following workaround:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization.
  2. Under Display, click Make Text and Other Items Larger Or Smaller.
  3. Choose a custom setting between 100 and 500 percent.
  4. Set Screen Resolution to the maximum value.
  5. When you connect with DameWare, right-click on top of the window and select maximize.
  6. Adjust the toggle button to maximize.
