Overview

The following error is displayed and the system properties do not return any results when Windows Firewall is enabled:

Remote registry service is disabled or not running on the machine

Environment

All Dameware Remote Support version (DRS)

Resolution

Note: Make sure that the Remote Registry and Windows Event Collector services are running on the remote host machine.

  1. Open Windows Firewall.
  2. Click Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall.
  3. Select the Remote Service Management box, and then click OK.
