Receive SOAP parsing error when connecting to the Dameware Central Server with Remote Support or Mini Remote Control

Overview

This article describes how to resolve a SOAP parsing error you may receive when connecting to the Dameware Central Server from Remote Support or Mini Remote Control.

Environment

Dameware Version 11 and later.

Cause

A majority of time, this problem occurs because the Dameware Central Server and the Dameware client are not the same version.

Resolution

  1. Open Remote Support or Mini Remote Control, and click the Advanced Settings tab.
  2. Change the port number from 6133 to 6132, and click Connect to server. As expected, changing the port number creates a parsing error.
  3. Change the port number back to 6133, and click Connect to server. The Dameware client should connect to the Central Server.
  4. If you are still receiving the SOAP parsing error, use the IP address instead of the Hostname, or use the Hostname instead of the IP address.
