New MRC Agent Settings Not Taking Effect for Entries in the Saved Host List

Overview

The MRC environment is configured as follows:

  • MRC is set up so that the agent gets uninstalled upon disconnection.
  • The MRC Agent settings are set in View -> Default Host Properties -> Install Options: Configure.
  • The option "Include Configuration File (DWRCS.reg)" is enabled.
  • Machines that are not in the Saved Host List do not get updated with the changes.

New agent settings are not being applies to machines that are in the Saved Host list. The settings should take effect for these machines.

Environment

  • DameWare MRC All v11.x and later

Steps

  1. Launch MRC.
  2. Go to View -> Local Global Options ->General Options (tab).
  3. Enable the option "Prompt for Update Existing Host Entries".
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click View -> Default Host Properties -> Install Options (tab).
  6. Disable and then re-enable the option "Include Configuration File (DWRCS.reg).
  7. Click OK.
    The Update Existing Entries window opens.
  8. If the changes that are not being applied is the Authentication method, please enable the option "Include Authentication Settings".
  9. Click Apply All and wait for MRC to finish updating the entries, then click Close.
  10. Test the connection to one of the existing entries in the Saved Host List to make sure changes are now applied.
