New DameWare licensing and activation

Overview

This article describes the new DameWare licensing and activation procedure. Previous DameWare licensing and activation required users to apply different license keys for each versions of the software they purchased or upgraded. A license key for one version does not apply to another, and license keys need to be reapplied after each installation.

Environment

  • All DameWare Remote Support versions
  • All DameWare Mini Remote Control versions

Steps

 

Notes:

  • Version 8 and earlier requires a new license key.
  • Version 9 and later continues to use the same license key on all upgrades for online activation.
  • DRS and MRC requires separate keys.

 

Go to SolarWinds License Manager and follow the instructions to install the License Manager and activate your licenses.

 

When you are successful at applying the license, the software is activated. If the activation is not successful:

  • Check your license count that appears on the SolarWinds Customer Portal.
  • Ensure that you applied the correct license.
  • Activate the license offline. Refer to SolarWinds Offline Licensing Activation.
