Internet proxy Winsock error 10060

Overview

The following error is displayed when you generate an internet session link:

System Error: 10060
System Message:
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
Host: localhost, port: [port number]

 

A conflict is generated on the IP address if the internet proxy is set up on the DMZ server or if you are using vSphere.

Environment

DameWare 11 and later

Resolution

  1. Change all the host names to the IP address of the machine on the configuration wizard on both the DMZ and the central server.
  2. Go to the administration console. 
  3. Under Internet Proxy, go to Settings.
  4. Click Internet proxy communication type.
  5. Select Forward through a custom router. 
  6. Enter the IP address of the DMZ:
