Installation error: SolarWinds Orion Maintenance Check has stopped working

Overview

 

The following error or similar appears during the first installation of DameWare Central Server:
SolarWinds Orion Maintenance Check has stopped working.
After clicking Close the program, a message saying a program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected and the Central Server was not installed.

Environment

  • DameWare Remote Support 11.0 and later
  • DameWare Mini Remote Control 11.0 and later

Cause

This occurs when the .NET installer package requires the computer to be restarted.

Resolution

Restart the computer and run the DameWare Central Server installer again.
