Table of contents

Updated April 18, 2018

Overview

This article details how to disable a remote machine's monitor upon starting the remote connection so that the remote machine's operator will not know what the technician is doing on their machine.

Please note that doing this will also disable the remote user's control over their machine, locking the remote keyboard and mouse.

Environment

  • All Mini Remote Control (MRC) versions

Steps

  1. Launch the MRC.
  2. On the Remote Connect popup window, right click on the remote machine from the list on the right side.
  3. Click on Settings.
  4. Under the Remote Options tab, enable the option Lock Remote Keyboard & Mouse.
  5. This will allow you to then enable the option Enable Blank Monitor.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Proceed to connect to the remote machine.
