Disable keyboard translation support in Dameware MRC

Updated: March 1, 2019

When you open Dameware Mini Remote Control (MRC) and connect to a machine with a different keyboard layout, a message appears on the screen prompting you to disable support.

  • Dameware Mini Remote (MRC) version 12.1.0
  • Windows 8, 10 and Server 2012 R2

The target PC is configured with keyboard settings that conflict with Dameware MRC.

Change the keyboard settings on the target PC before connecting.

  1. Open Dameware MRC.
  2. Locate the target PC.
  3. Right click the PC and select > Settings > Remote Options.
  4. Check Disable Keyboard Translation.
  5. Uncheck Enable Foreign Keyboard Mapping.
  6. Save your changes.
