Dameware Mini Remote Control displays the Enter Network Password prompt

Overview

Dameware Mini Remote Control might display the Enter Network Password prompt, especially if the agent is not yet installed. To install the agent, the Mini Remote user should be a member of any administrator group, but there are some cases that the user account is not recognized by the system.

Environment

  • Dameware Mini Remote Control, all versions

Steps

To resolve this issue, run Mini Remote Control with an elevated user account like a domain admin account.

  1. Press Shift + right-click and select "Run as a different user".

  2. Enter the user account with elevated privileges.
  3. Select the remote machine and then choose "Windows NT Challenge/Response" as shown below.6o3o2R9 - Imgur.png
