DameWare unable to connect to target machine due to frozen desktop status

Overview

This article describes how to resolve a problem where the desktop on the target machine you are trying to connect to with DameWare Mini Remote Control freezes during initialization.

Environment

  • DameWare version 9 and later

Steps

1. Connect to the target machine via RDP.

2. Restart the DameWare service on the target machine.

3. Restart the DameWare service on the technician's machine.

4. Attempt to connect to the target machine.
