DameWare license activation failed

Overview

The following error message appears when attempting to activate Dameware.

Your license activation failed.

The license you provided cannot be activated.

License Manager failed to install the license either because the Activation Key applies to a different SolarWinds product or the machine key relates to a different machine.

 

 

Environment

All DameWare MRC versions

Resolution

  • Verify that you are using the correct activation key for the product that you are attempting to activate.
  • If you have a Dameware Remote Support (DRS) license, Dameware Mini Remote Control (DMRC) is part of the package and does not need to be licensed separately. It will show as in evaluation. Once you have the DRS activated successfully there is no further action required.
  • If you have downloaded the correct product and are using the correct activation key, but are still getting the error, please contact Solarwinds Customer Service as you will need to be provided with a license clean up tool to resolve the error.
